Filter life is dependent on the quality of water being filtered. With normal use, expect around 100 gallons of filtration.
Yes. The filter will not grow bacteria, but the straw itself still needs to be washed. The straw is dishwasher safe; DO NOT place the filter in the dishwasher.
Use of the filter straw with any liquid other than water is not recommended.
